MV/LV transformer station for an industrial zone in Abidjan: 1600 kVA transformer, SM6 switchgear and main distribution board.

This Abidjan industrial zone brings together several agri-food production units sharing a common MV incoming substation. CVCI supplied a Schneider 1600 kVA transformer and modular SM6 switchgear to handle distribution to each unit with independent metering and protection.

The downstream main distribution board includes selective protection adapted to high-power motors (refrigeration compressors, grinders) with motor protection relays, soft starters and variable speed drives to limit inrush currents on start-up.

Attention to power quality (harmonic filters, tan φ < 0.4 compensation) protects neighbouring sensitive equipment and allows operators to avoid CIE penalties linked to power factor.
